REYNOLDS CUP
RESEARCH
The Reynolds Cup is a biennial international competition in mineralogical analysis, organized by the Clay Minerals Society (USA) in honor of Bob Reynolds, one of the leading scholars in the quantitative analysis of clays and clay minerals. The competition is open to all researchers interested in challenging themselves in quantitative mineralogical analysis, with particular emphasis on the identification and quantification of clay minerals.
Analitica participated at the Reynolds Cup in 2020, 2022, 2024, and again in 2026. In the last edition, more than 100 laboratories from around the world took part of the competition and our laboratory analyzed three samples consisting of unknown mineral mixtures using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The development and continuous improvement of our mineralogical analysis methodologies have enabled us to consistently achieve top-ranking positions in all four editions of the competition..
